I have a folder of bookmarks to Bookfinder searches. I set the "Name" property to the book title, and I can search for current listings for many books by selecting "Open All in Tabs." I like to alphabetize the bookmarks in the folder by title.

But when I try to alphabetize the bookmarks by "drag and drop," using either the sidebar interface or the "Organize Bookmarks" interface, the reordering often (but not always) fails. Simply switching to another folder and switching back can show that what appeared to be correctly reordered in fact is still disordered.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Collect many bookmarks.
2. Attempt to reorder them.
3.



From the history it appears this kind of problem has been around for a while.

Do you maybe have a sort order set in the library, check View-->Sort and make sure it's unsorted before making the adjustments.

(btw you can right-click on the bookmark folder and select "sort by name" and ff will sort them alphabetically for you)

Also try it in safemode: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox) and see if it yields the same results.

feel free to reopen if you can reproduce the issue with latest version and in Safe Mode.
