Allen 801-671-3600 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: program wont start
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
I installed a fresh copy of Firefox 3.0.4 and I can not get Firefox or the profile manager to run.
Here the Firefox 3.0.5 (installed before a week) starts 1. time, but then after closing the window (understand : closing all firefox windows) sometimes refuses to start anymore until the computer reboots. OS : Win XP
The problem: If you have installed Firefox and it will not start. Try uninstalling and then reinstall to a different path. The default install location is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. Change the install path to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox Fix. This should fix the problem.
Can you get Firefox to run in safe Mode? Because you installed in a new directory and it worked, it seems like you had a extension that is messing with your install. safe mode should fix that.

I managed to work around the problem in my installation by deleting(renaming) the users mozilla directory, reinstalling Firefox and then copying at least bookmarks back, loosing history and others settings.
