Currently, all fields are "tracked" in the fielddefs table.

The table should only be used for "custom fields".

fielddefs.description for internal variables can be managed by template/en/default/global/field-descs.none.tmpl

Wow, no, only the descriptions should be removed (set to NULL) for internal fields. The rest of that data is important.
