As a meteorologist I need to open a large number of charts at the same time and use the Ctrl+ [page up or page down] to navigate quickly. When I open this list:

FF shows the pages getting loaded but the graphic keeps showing Google (my home page). If I move the mouse over the page some of the expected images bleed through and the text box widget for Google jumps to the top left. When I try to ctrl+page up I can see the tabs change focus to the next tab but the image in the browser continues to be a scramble Google and Weather chart.
I should also note that this list is a folder within a folder list of bookmarks within the toolbar bookmarks.
This defect shows up with other large "open all in tabs" selections as well. Smaller multiple tab openings seem ok (sorry, I don't have the "go/no-go" number yet).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load the list of URLs into a Bookmarks Toolbar (folder within a folder)
2.Right click on the toolbar bookmark and select "Open all in tabs"
3.
Actual Results:
Graphics unresponsive and scrambled when moused over. Tab navagation not changing the graphics but IS changing the tab focus on the tab bar
Expected Results:
Page should load. I should see the other pages when navigating through the other tabs

Does this also happen when you start Firefox in Safe Mode or could this be extension related?
At least on my system (WinXP, Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM) these 34 pages open without a glitch.

Firefox is in normal mode. I wasn't aware FF had a "Safe Mode." Windows is not in Safe Mode either.
I hasn't been doing it too much lately now. I can still get it in this state if I use the "Close other Tabs" control. and "Open All In Tabs" afterward. I've only had the problem on a Compaq nc8430 laptop.
Extension related? Maybe. I use these extensions:
Adblock Plus 0.7.5.5
BlockSite 0.7.1
Download Statusbar 0.9.6.3
NoScript 1.7.9
ReloadEvery 3.0.0
Page Update Checker 0.3.1 (disabled with FF 3.0.1)

I haven't been able to reproduce this anymore. About still shows version 3.0.1 so I'm not not exactly sure what's changed. Please keep this open for a short while in case it starts acting up again.

Okay, I got it into the hang state again. I did the "Close other Tabs" control and "Open All In Tabs" afterward. After a couple times it hangs!

Using the same technique as in comment #5 I can reproduce the problem even in FF safe mode. In safe mode I tried it with extensions shut off and then with preferences set to default. Keep using the ["Close other Tabs" control and "Open All In Tabs" afterward] over and over until the problem shows up. I think it's a memory problem (leak?) so it may show up sooner with lower memory (I'm guessing on the memory).

Wayne, can you still reproduce it with Firefox 3.5.2?
