Upgraded to FF 3. Now, streaming YouTube (and other) videos, crash browser (about 1 out of 3 to 5 video plays). Other than this, FF3 is stable and fast. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to YouTube 2. Pick one video to play over and over, or; play various videos. 3. Eventually FF3 will crash. Actual Results: ERROR - "firefox has encountered problem and needs to close" Mozilla Crash Reporter DOESN'T show. Expected Results: That I wouldn't crash. - From last crash: AppName: firefox.exe AppVer: 1.9.0.3105 ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00011c48 - EVENT VIEWER (APPLICATION ERROR) - this may be from earlier crash Category: NONE EventID:1000 TIME: 9.08.52pm DESCRIPTION: Faulting application firefox.exe, version 1.9.0.3105, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0003426d. ** NO CORRESPONDING PROB in Event Viewer (SYSTEM ERROR) - another error, earlier: 8.22.11pm SOURCE: iaStor CATEGORY: none, EVENT: 9 The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period. - All security scans are clean (no infections). - Nothing to explain the problem here: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+crashes - FF and add-ons are all current build: AdBlock Plus 0.7.5.5 Flashblock 1.5.6 NoScript 1.8 Live HTTP Headers 0.14 Add N Edit Cookies 0.2.1.3 * NOTE: If video crashes browser, it happens a second or two after video starts to play. Once the video gets past that point, it will play fine. I had Task Manager on, and didn't notice any sudden jump in CPU usage, prior to the crashes.
see http://mversen.de/crash/ , you need either flash10beta or you must use the windbg way to generate a stack trace. The "Device\Ide\iaStor0" problems means that windows had problems with accessing the HDD
I traced this to a problem FLASHBLOCK has with FF3, crashing on some URL forms, for full screen video streaming. I posted a Bug Report with MozDev, who hopefully will resolve the issue.
