User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Just clicked the fast / auto update to update to 3.0 without thinking. Shouldn't have. The new browser is glacial in speed. Every new web page takes at least five times longer to come up than pages in 2.0.0.1 (or whatever it was I was using. How do I go back to 2.0 version? If I can't, I will need to find another browser. VERY disappointed in this new version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open Firefox 2. wait interminably for home page to open 3. wait interminably for any other page to open
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 I see no difference here. Can you retest in safe-mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)
I "helped" someone on LiveChat with this issue, no extensions. Any other possibilities?
I tried Safe Mode. Still slow as molasses.

Maybe a third party software like a security/firewall/antivirus/antimalware program? Or you could try a new profile: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile Firefox 2 is still available and will be updated with security and stability fixes for some time: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8/
If you want to downgrade first export your bookmarks (as html).
kevin, are you still seeing problem? have you tried v3.5?

I am using 3.0.6 and speeds are now normal. Wondering if I should upgrade to 3.5.
