There seems to be some problem when deleting attachments in local folders (or "Unix Movemail" setup).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Set up a "Unix Movemail" account. Send yourself a mail with two attachments: "a" - small, and "b" - say, ~5MB. (Attached in this order.)

Upon receiving the mail (in Inbox, a local folder), delete "a". On my workstation this takes a couple of minutes at least. If not convinced, repeat with bigger attachment "b".
Actual Results:  
Detachment/deletion of attachment is implemented in some unreasonable way, and causes long delays during which the GUI is unresponsive.


This is a serious problem, because detachment/deletion of several files simultaneously doesn't seem to work properly either.

I have the same problem.
It is not just slow, it doesn't work!

I've tried detach/delete one big attachment (approx. 30MB) file from the other attached file and NOTHING's happened.

I'm connected to IMAP folders.

Unfortunately, I can't check with Thunderbird 3 either - I don't use it anymore, and don't have it installed.
