I just found out (through a discussion on mozilla.dev.planning) that it is possible since the Bugzilla 3.0 release to get 'editcomponents' privileges just for certain products.

Since I've been doing a lot of project management and privilege management (giving contributors canconfirm or editbugs) for the Calendar project for years already, I thought it might be a good idea, to get 'editcomponents' rights for the Calendar product, so that we no longer need to hassle you every time we need a new component, target milestone or version.

it's done by creating a group, which means marcia/reed would have to do it.

that said, i'd request that any changes you make are documented in this component. i.e. file a bug against yourself explaining what you're going to do, then do it, then resolve the bug.

We'd prefer if you would just continue to file bugs in this component for changes you need.
