I'm testing Mozilla M17 on a linux OS. I've connected to the linux system using an Unix platform and an external DISPLAY environment variable. While visiting a site like www.myspace.com, after executed the first javascript procedure, browser functionality dramatically reduced. By choosing edit->preferences, the browser jams! In general in my test, noone of the site with javascripts I visited work correctly!

I have been unable to confirm www.myspace.com javascript problem as quote on quote "serious", However I get the errors: Error getting url widget service: TypeError: Components.classes[progid] has no properties JavaScript error: http://www.myspace.com/Index.asp line 221: Not Necessarily in that order. However I noticed that my site, http://sabotaged.cjb.net or http://vining.cjb.net and even http://home.excite.com's javascript code keeps erroring and fails to display the banner popup ad or whatever home.excite.com uses javascript for (was just looking for something to test :) JavaScript error: line 0: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component does not have requested interface" code: "-2147467262" nsresult: "0x80004002 (NS_NOINTERFACE)" location: "<unknown>"] was the error that showed up 3-4 times in the debug window when accessing all those pages. When i went to edit->preferences->debug it disables the OK button only allowing me to click cancel, and gives me the error when i change highlighting debug to Mail and News or something other: JavaScript error: chrome://global/content/nsWidgetStateManager.js line 130: elements[i] has no properties It doesn't seem to care what site I visit for that error, whether there's JScript or not. I'm using a pretty standard distribution of Slackware 7.1, I've only upgraded the compiler from egcs to gnu gcc 2.95.2, running BuildID 2000071221

Wrong category. I am moving this bug to "Java-script"
Component: Java-Implemented Plugins → Javascript Engine

i think this is dup of 45357
The errors you're seeing aren't likely related to the JavaScript engine -- or even the DOM, the other usual suspect. When I see ``widgetStateManager.js'', I start thinking of Ben (and whipped cream, but that's another story).

I see that this seems to be fixed now for Linux 2000072508 on PC (but I was having this problem before). Reporter: can you confirm that it works on Sun as well?
