User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 After using Firefox 3 for more than 10 minutes, all OSX menus cease to function without being clicked on (e.g. After a menu is selected one can no longer mouse-over the menu options (highlight doesn't appear), and an item must be clicked on to open a sub menu or to select that item. With Dock set to auto-hide, Dock will not appear. Computer must be restarted to fix the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Firefox 2. Use Firefox 3. Notice menus don't work properly Actual Results: Exactly what I described previously. This has occurred every time since I "upgraded" to Firefox 3. Expected Results: To not have Firefox effect my menus Severity critical because although technically not a crash it makes it difficult to use the computer - and therefore one will use another browser.
Do you use a Logitech Wireless Mouse with your Mac? I also have the same issue sometimes but it require just unplugging and plugging in my mouse.
This happened exactly with Firefox 3 on Mac, when the Flashplayer crashed and killed Firefox. But it only affected my Wacom Bamboo Graphic Tablet – the touchpad on my Laptop worked fine ;-) With Firefox 4 there is a Plugin-Container which solved the problem, if you are not in Fullscreenmode. But if you are in in Fullscreenmode and the Flashplugin crashes… uhm… then you don't have any Dock and any Taskbar, if you are working with firefox. If you are switching to another Programm *magic* they are back :)
I downloaded 17.0.1, and the problem went away, fwiw.
Yep, it is fine now. Marking as fixed.
