On my new 64 bit machine DP35 board with q9300, running Vista home premium, some program run fast, some much slower than on my old XP AMD3500+.   Firefox is one of the slower programs.  Is there a 64 bit issue?  Windows Internet Explorer runs fast.

With "runs slow" you mean the website rendering takes quite long and so on? How about using the browser UI (opening menus, clicking on bookmarks, etc.), does that also behave slowly?

Hi Frank, it's slow to load the program, slow to run, slow to load pages - every aspect of it is slow.
I have since discovered and downloaded 'minefield' - promoted as a 64 bit version of Fox, and it seems marginally better, but still way behind IE.  On a 64 bit machine wired for speed I expected to be impressed but ...   When I am in a hurry I am forced to use Internet Explorer because everything works at good speed.
If no one else is having this problem, it's probably something about my installation.  To date there is very little software loadd on it - haven;t had it long enough (give me  time...), but I haven't read or heard of similar complaints.
This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
