Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.2) Gecko/2008091618 Firefox/3.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.2) Gecko/2008091618 Firefox/3.0.2

When you have multiple tabs open, and want to quit Firefox, if you try to select the Quit command via the Command-Q keyboard shortcut, the prompt just reappears. If you wish to quit, you must click the Quit button with your mouse.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have multiple tabs open. Make sure the warn option is enabled.
2. Quit Firefox. The dialog box asking whether you wish to Quit, Save and Quit, or Cancel appears.
3. Press Command-Q in an attempt to select Quit.
Actual Results:
The prompt reappears, with the same 3 options.

Expected Results:
Firefox selects the Quit option in response to Command-Q, and quits.

This bug appeared in 3.0 and is still present in 3.0.2. Additionally, it is Mac-specific. If you do the same in the Windows version, pressing Q when the prompt appears, Firefox quits as expected.
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch
Have you enabled keyboard accessibility in the system preferences? If so (and IIRC), Ctrl+Q should activate the Quit button. Note the difference between keyboard shortcut (triggered by Cmd) and access key (triggered by Ctrl) which should make this bug INVALID.

As for the prompt appearing multiple times, that's bug 424378.

Ah, thank you...I was unaware of Ctrl-q on the Mac, since most other apps, such as Apple's TextEdit, use Cmd-key shortcuts, such as Cmd-D for "Don't Save" when dismissing an unsaved document. So perhaps Cmd-Q should be made a valid response to the dialog so those who don't wish to save their session can dismiss the dialog without resorting to the mouse?
You could try to enter about:config in the address bar, filter for ui.key.chromeAccess and set that value to 8. See however bug 207510 comment #8 for the possible down-side of that setting.
