If I have an event that not habe alarm on agenda pane, I see only a small square with calendar backcolor but not have none information for the category. I think it is better that the events that no have alarm are displayed as the events that have alarm. Reproducible: Always
The display issue is not related to having an alarm or not. All-day events and non-all-day events are displayed differently in the agenda pane as shown in your screenshot. Displaying of all-day events will be improved with Bug 417222. Non-all-day events don't indicate the category color.
