To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. The 3.0.2. release notes indicate that this should been fixed in 3.0.2 allready. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start FF 2. Open message with link or .... 3. click on the link Actual Results: No access to weblink Expected Results: Access to link in new tab. I read of similar issues where there are multiple profiles. But I have just a single profile.

Do you mean double-clicking a shortcut on your desktop or clicking a link in a page in the Firefox browser or a bookmark or history item or a link in an e-mail?

I tried clicking a link in an e-mail (Thunderbird) and this works fine for me (Windows XP). Do you have your profile via the profile manager or via the -profile switch?

Any link outside of firefox itself will result in this error. I have not done anything with the profile manager. This is a rather new laptop (About 3 or 4 weeks in use) and I installed firefox fresh on it.

I just played a bit and it seems it is related to the desktop manager from sysinternals. If I happen to have firefox open in the same desktop as Outlook it actually works. So somehow the desktop seperation of sysinternals seems to be be a factor I had not anticipated. Now wether this is a bug of firefox or sysinternals is something we need yet to find out.

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
