User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Firefox, when it works, is my preferred browser. The best thing is the relative simplicity of the way the "Find" feature works. I also like the simplicity of Cntrl-B for the bookmarks. In preparation for our travels I copy a lot of pictures (2000+ recently) off the internet and your recent improvements have made that process a lot less cumbersome. That said the stability of the browser continues to be a problem. This morning I went to time.gov and clicked on the time zone. Firefox locked up. I closed it and reopened it. Upon reopening I selected the "Restore previous session" option. It returned me to the time.gov home page. Again I clicked on the time zone and again it locked. In the end I was compelled to resort to Internet Explorer just so I could reset my watch. I wouldn't bother writing you if this were an isolated occurrence, but I see this sort of lockup and the corresponding "(Not Responding)" on the title bar more often than I would like - say, on the order of twice a month. For your information I have Firefox 3.0.3 running on a Windows Vista Home Premium platform. Please see what you can do. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Hello Glenn Thanks for your feedback. The developers are always trying to fix crashes and freezes of Firefox. Such a freeze can be caused by multiple things and it's not always "our" fault. For example plugins like Flash or Java can cause a freeze or crash but that is not our fault. It seems that time.gov is for example using a Java applet and that can cause a hang. Please upgrade to the latest JRE version from Sun. The site itself works for me with FF3.0.3 and JRE6 U10 on Windows. You can see the list of deteced plugins if you type "about:plugins" in the URL bar without the "". Firefox addons can also cause a hang, in that case use the Firefox safemode to troubleshoot the issue : http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Now back to your feedback. This is bugzilla and bugzilla is not for general feedback, it's a tool for our developers to coordinate their work on Firefox and other Mozilla.org products. IF you have an isolated case of a hang or crash that you can reproduce then you can and should file a bug report here, please include Steps to reproduce and be sure that you tried the safemode first and you are using the latest Plugin version used on such a page. If you just need help or user support then try http://support.mozilla.com, there are Forums and Live chat. I will mark this bug report worksforme because your report is more general feedback and I can not reproducee the hang on time.gov
