458392 - News status bar show messages being received but none show up

The download status bar shows that 4 of 4 news messages are being downloaded but none show up.  This is highly repeatable and occurs for each newsgroup download session

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on the news category in the 'All Folders' pane
2.observe the download status bar which always shows 4 of 4 news items being downloaded.
3.No news items appear in the message pane
Actual Results:  
as above in the Steps to Reproduce.

Expected Results:  
As above in Steps to Reproduce, item #3

1. Downloaded messages, if there were any because it is highly suspect that there are "4 of 4" messages on my news server each day.
2. Not shown that "4 of 4" messages were being downloaded.

Can you produce an NNTP log of the session?

For me the error is resolved because I have changed OS to Vista x64 and am now using Outlook.  No more problems....  

If you would like I can go back to Thunderbird and see if the problem still exists.

I specifically asked for an NNTP log of a session displaying the error and the newsrc file from immediately thereafter.

Quite likely, the issue may be a mixture of the following:

* Canceled messages on the server messing with counts
* Filters deleting messages
* Killed/ignored threads keeping threads from view
