User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080716 SeaMonkey/1.1.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080716 SeaMonkey/1.1.11 Browser crashes every time. I should be able to view the intended page. I have no trouble with FireFox, or with Konqueror. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Seamonkey 2.Click link in Bookmarks (http://www.imdb.com) 3. Actual Results: Crash, browser vanishes, & I am looking at my Desktop Expected Results: I should be able to view the intended page. uname -a yields the following: 2.6.17-5mdv #1 SMP Wed Sep 13 14:32:31 EDT 2006 i686 AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3000+ GNU/Linux
If you tested it with Firefox 3 but not with Firefox 2, it may mean that the bug is already fixed in "trunk" code (SeaMonkey 1.1.x uses the same rendering engine as Firefox 2.0.0.x while SeaMonkey 2.0 alpha, which has just been released, uses the same engine as the alpha/beta versions of Firefox 3.1). The problem with crashes in SeaMonkey 1.1 is that (IIUC) it has no crash reporter, due to licensing problems with the Talkback program, which is neither open-source nor Mozilla software. If you (or someone) could get a stack trace (maybe with Firefox 2) it might help the Mozilla devs determine what went wrong.

First of all, I want to say thank you to Tony Mechelynck, for the email. After getting the message I downloaded the latest version of Seamonkey and installed it. Tony, you are correct, the problem has been fixed. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.17) Gecko/20080829 SeaMonkey/1.1.12, displays that page just fine. I even set that page as my start page. My congrats to the developers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My pleasure.
