Win95, Mozilla builds 7-19-00 and earlier...
I noticed that the first element in form radio buttons are preselected for you
even if the form does not do that.
There are 2 radio buttons on this page you can test with.
http://www2.heifer.org/test/moz-form.htm
I am sure there are many sites that use radio buttons where no items are
preselected. Thus we could be helping many users submit invalid information....
not good!
The form is longer then needed as i have other mozilla bugs with it :)

Windows 95, Mozilla build 7-19-00
Hidden elements like:
<input type="hidden" name="test code">
Don't get submitted like NS 4.x
If you need to test submit this form I can mail results back to you to see.
http://www2.heifer.org/test/moz-form.htm
(just don't do it to me to much :) )
That page has 3 hidden elemens that are not passed to the old stand by CGI form
FORMMAIL.CGI. They are:
Assigned E-Mail Account
Network Account
test code
Netscape 4.x sends formail.cgi the 3 hidden elements thus they appear on the
e-mail sent back.
Mozilla does not send that information back.
Thus there could be cases where information is for some types of forms being
processed information could almost be invalid.

I am marking this bug invalid.
This test case has the following doc type:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"
This doctype means the document will be interpreted in strict mode not in Nav
Quirks mode. Please see Bug 43274 for an explanation on that. There seems to be
some debate on that issue which I am fully qualified to exaplain.
When a document contains radio buttons and is intpreted as a "strict" mode
document the first radio button is always selected (per the spec.)
NavQuirks leaves all the radio buttons unselected. So this page in loaded in Nav
4.x will not have the buttons selected and in Mozilla they will be selected. If
the doc type was changed to be HTML 3.2 or whatever would make it be interpreted
as NavQuirks then you will get the correct behavior.
Please do not reopen this bug because of the doc type/DTD issue. You can reopen
if you have an issue as to whether radio buttons should be preselected as a
default depending on the strict or compatibility mode. But here is a link to
read:

ahhh, i though I had read all that page. I had looked before I posted the bug
at every part of that page, that one paragraph.
====
At all times, exactly one of the radio buttons in a set is checked.
If none of the <INPUT> elements of a set of radio buttons specifies
`CHECKED', then the user agent must check the first radio button
of the set initially.
