I just upgraded minefield.  When I double clicked the desktop icon, I saw the Minefield Uninstaller.  I canceled out, then double clicked the icon again, and it ran the browser as normal.

I have no clue if I can ever replicate this.

Dan, by upgraded, do you mean manually downloading a new installer and running it, or using the built-in updater ?
