Error #-34 means "disk full"!
That could simply explains the missing webshell

in bug #29845, dveditz wrote that the install wizard does some rudimentary disk
space check, but it should NOT start the install in such a situation, and display
a more user-friendly message.
creating dependency between the 2 bugs.
Depends on: 29845
Putting on [dogfood-] radar. Not critical to everyday use. Also, adding
"nsbeta3" keyword for fix consideration in PR3.

Before this gets marked VERIFIED, Alek, did you try and run the installer with an
"almost full" disk to see what happens?
Since there were no fix checked in, I suspeect this bug is still valid.
I saw this error last week too and am not seeing it today- 7/24, don't think it
was disk space- I had lots of it then as well as now
MacOS error #-34 is somewhat related with lack of disk space. I'm positive. If
you think you have plenty but still see this error, then the wizard must be doing
something *really* bad.

Alek, can you answer my last question?
the errror is actually -43 i double checked and i still don't see it on build
2000-07-24-08-M17
-43 ??? Well, that's a total different story now. This means "File not found"
which probably means that some .xpi were missing with 20000720 build but this got
fixed since then.
So this bug can probably be verified now.

2 observations:
- extra care should be give to error numbers when entered in a bug description to
avoid this kind of confusion.
- Better user experience should be implemented in the wizard to handle errors
(displaying a sentence instead of an error number, and in this particular case,
indicating _which_ file is missing). Samir, Dan, can I log a separate bug for
this?
updating summary
Summary: Browser crashes on start-up and gets a -34 error on mozilla → Browser crashes on start-up and gets a -43 error on mozilla
JJ,
There was another bug logged about the -43 error. It got resolved. It had to
do with the langpacks not being generated by the commercial automation or some
such.
will verify for build 2000072408
