Details |
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier:
The 102 number code in application/http-index-format files is supposed to display a human readable information line in HTML format. This data should be presented to the user when they are viewing data drawn from the file. This data should be parsed as HTML. It seems to either ignore the 102 number codes or treat them as a 100 number code. Spec at http://developer.mozilla.org/en/application%2f%2fhttp-index-format_specification#102
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. View a file served as application/http-index-format with a 102: number code in it
Actual Results:
102 code is ignored
Expected Results:
102 code is shown and parsed as HTML

Here is the 101 handling, 102 indeed appears ignored:
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/netwerk/streamconv/converters/nsDirIndexParser.cpp#426
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/netwerk/streamconv/converters/nsIndexedToHTML.cpp#1013
Probably the best thing to do is to reference this bug from the docs.

I know this is very late to ask, but why is the format's name redundant? The only site that uses application/http-index-format directory listings I know of is my site, so I don't think it would be too disruptive if we renamed it to application/http-index.

I don't know what's the story behind this mime type and why is it exposed to web content at all... Perhaps try asking in #developers on irc.mozilla.org to see if anyone knows. Renaming it is probably not worth the hassle..
