Add "www." and ".com" for unknown locations doesn't work if the proxy is configured in the Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Proxies->Manual proxy configuration.
It automatically adds the domain name of the proxy instead of ".com"
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.deselect the automatic web search at Edit->Preferences->Browser->Location Bar->Unknown Locations
2.configure the proxy Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Proxies->Manual proxy configuration.
3.then type "yahoo" on the location bar and press enter
Actual Results:
the error message displays saying "Address Not Found www.yahoo.<YOUR DOMAIN NAME HERE>. Please check the name and try again" .
Expected Results:
find www.yahoo.com and redirect into your regional site from yahoo. In my case it's "http://au.yahoo.com/?p=us".
If configured with a Automatic proxy configuration URL in the Proxies section, it works fine.Only occurs when there's the Manual proxy configuration is used.

Can you still see this in a SeaMonkey trunk nightly? Perhaps also related to bug 315585
