When two Firefox windows are open, and you click a button in the Bookmarks Toolbar of the background window, the tab will open in the foreground window, when it should open in the background window.

This behavior differs from middle-clicking a link in the background window, which opens a new tab in the background window, as expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open two Firefox windows: Window A and Window B.
2. Click anywhere in Window A.
3. Click a non-Firefox window.
3. Middle-click a bookmark in Window B.
Actual Results:
The tab opens in window A.

Expected Results:
The tab should open in window B.

Does this also happen on Windows and/or Linux?

I cannot reproduce in windows Vista nor XP
I noticed different behaviours :
1) When you middle-click on a bookmark in personnal bar in the window, the bookmark opens fine in a new tab.
2) When you middle-click on a bookmark in the bookmark menu, it opens in the current tab. The correct behaviour is in a new tab.
2) When you middle-click on a short-cut called "open in all tabs" in the bookmark menu, it does not work fine. The correct behaviour is to open all bookmarks in new tabs following the previous opened ones.
    I'm speculating...

My personal assumption is that the bookmark code only care about what was the last window in focus, not where the menu is attached. I reported what I believe is a different manifestation of the same bug in Bug 484464 and Bug 484476. But I may be completely wrong, of course...

    Good luck...

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
