User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.17 (20080914) This is unlike previously reported bugs. What happens is that if I send a reply to one saved in "local folders", the reply may or may not be saved in the sent account. A search indicates that the sent message is not in any folder. I can verify that the messages were sent (either by contacting the recipients or by looking at the send-to site to see if they have been received). Also, the "replied indicator" always appears next to the replied message. I do not know when it will happen. Some message do get saved. I have tried to narrow it down by looking at size of message, whether the original was edited or not, whether or not the reply was first saved as a draft, and have come up dry. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.reply to a bunch of messages 2.observe if some are not saved. 3. Actual Results: Expect that the reproduce steps will fail to reproduce evidence of the problem. I have found that it will not work. The emails that do not get saved have been thus far only those which I need to reply to. Expected Results: I would have expected that the reproduce steps would work. Cannot think of any.
The bug as stated is solved but there is still a problem. All of the missing sent messages reappeared after I resorted the folder from which they were sent. So, the bug is now that they are stored, I guess, in the folder from which they were sent rather than in the sent folder. However, they were not visible. Note that I have about 200 emails in the folder and it may be that they were stored at the bottom, out of sight. This would add another wrinkle to the bug - they were not sorted by date even though the folder was sorted that way. I discovered them by sorting by name (something I seldom do) and then resorting by date.
Sorry for this. This was not a bug. One of my message filters was erroneously set up to move the mail from the sent folder. I hope no one spent too much time on this. I will try to be more careful next time.
