User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9.1b1) Gecko/20081007 Firefox/3.1b1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9.1b1) Gecko/20081007 Firefox/3.1b1 When you launch firefox 3.1 b1 (portable version) for the first time there is 2 tabs displayed (one for telling thanks you for testing, one for the default web site). When you launch firefox 3.1 b1 for the second time there is one tab but it isn't necessary to have on the screen the designation and the icon of the tab, only the web page. In firefox 3.0.3, if you have only one web site you don't have on the screen the "tab" (with the icon and designationà, you only have the web page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Launch Firefox 3.1 b1 with only one web page. Actual Results: It shows the icon and the designation of the web site on the tab. Expected Results: It has to show only the web site, not the tab (like in firefox 3.0.3)
Do you mean that it should not show the tab bar by default? That was an intentional change per Bug 392870.
I am thinking you are seeing the new tab toolbar found in Bug 392870 that Ria mentioned. I think if you have an issue with that, you can discuss it, but it will most likely end up being WONTFIX, simply because it is desired action.
that's a design decision that the tabbar is enabled by default. marking invalid because it's no bug.

v. BTW, you can change the tab tabbar by going to Options>Tabs and unchecking "Always show tabs"
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
Sorry to have thinking that was a graphical bug. I don't know that there was a parameter to change this. So I have change this and it has worked. But I really think that the default value for the "Always show tabs" should be disable as the displayed zone is greater. Thanks for all
The whole reason of making the change in bug 392870 was to improve the discoverability of tabbed browsing. Making it disabled by default would make the change of no use, since new users are not likely to go looking in the options to turn on a feature enabled by default in IE, but for all they know might not even be in FF. he small amount of screen space that is lost is more than made up by the enhanced "grandma factor" (never forget that). You can always reduce toolbars in other ways (ie. no bookmarks toolbar, like I do, no Google toolbar, etc.).
