Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081026 Shredder/3.0b1pre

When I'm editing a (plain text) mail message, Ctrl+Backspace only deletes a single space before the cursor; not groups of spaces, and not any puncutation or letters/numbers.

It's supposed to delete the previous word.

No idea if this is related to bug 440916 or bug 429308 or but 456898.
Flags: wanted-thunderbird3?
Confirmed on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081028 Shredder/3.0b1pre.

There is also some other strange behaviour to report regarding ctrl+backspace. Steps to reproduce:
1. Type a word on an empty line in a plain text message composition window. Do not follow it with a space.
2. Hit ctrl+backspace. Nothing is deleted.
3. Hit the end key, then hit ctrl+backspace. All characters in the word except the first are deleted. For example, if the word was "best", only the "b" will remain.
Linux too.

This sounds like Bug 462188. In that bug, QA narrowed down the regression window and discovered a likely suspect, Bug 157546.

It seems to me that we might want to reopen Bug 157546 and/or set some blocking flags in one of these bugs.. It is kinda a pain to not be able to delete words in message editing or in Firefox rich text editors.
Looks like a straight dupe to me.

Double forward duped. Really useful.
Of course, since that's where the info, testcase and appropriate blocking flags are set!
