User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3

I use Spamcop webmail for most of my email for filtering reasons. In Mozilla 2.x (or earlier) if I viewed a message that was HTML that Mozilla couldn't render, I could click on the link for the HTML document and it would pop up in a child window. If I clicked on a live link in that window, I would get a new tab in the same window (I am set to "New Pages should open in a new tab). In Mozilla 3.x when I click on a link in the child window, the new tab opens up in the parent window that I was previously in!

In fact, if I click on any link in a page that should launch a fresh tab, the tab sometimes opens in the last window I was working in BEFORE switching to the one I am in, not the current window! If I search "tab opens in wrong window" in the support forum search I see MANY notes of similar or related parent/child window behavior, all with Mozilla 3.x. The only way I can reliably get the tab to open in the correct window is to right-click and select "open link in a new tab", which was not necessary in Mozilla 2.x.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. View an email message on webmail that has HTML that Mozilla won't render.
2. Click on the HTML part showing below the headers for the document.
3. Click on a live link in the HTML doc that opens in step 2.
Actual Results:
New tab opens in previous window with the original non-HTML message.

Expected Results:
The new tab should have opened in the same window as the HTML message.

Happens in Windows XP and MAC OS 10.x identically!
