Does this also happen with 1.6.4, and when you run Camino through <http://pimpmycamino.com/parts/troubleshoot-camino>?
Severity: major → normal
Component: Security → General
QA Contact: camino → general
It has been happening for over a year, but didn't bother to report it till now.

There is a download link on the page above; the direct download link is:
http://www.ardisson.org/smokey/moz/Troubleshoot_Camino.zip
Okay now that it worked with the trouble shoot icon, what do I do to fix my main one with all my bookmarks etc.?

The first thing to try would be to quit Camino, move your prefs.js (and user.js if you have created one) out of your profile and re-test. If that works, please attach your prefs.js file here so we can try to figure out which preference is causing it, so we know if it's a Camino bug or not.
If that doesn't work, you can put the files back (making sure to quit Camino first), and clearing any cookies and cookie exceptions related to the site from the Privacy preference pane.
Here is my file. I was able to have access to my bank after taking it out. So now what?

The most likely culprit is your cookie setting, "Accept cookies only from sites I visit"; they may be setting a cookie from a different domain as part of the login process. Try changing to accepting all cookies (or alternately, change to accept all, turn on "Ask me before accepting each cookie", choose Allow for everything to get your bank's domains whitelisted, then put your cookies settings back the way they were).

Should I put back in my previous prefs.js, or forget about it and start from scratch with the new settings you mention?

You can add back your prefs.js first (again, quitting Camino first, or it will be overwritten)

I added them back, emptied the cache and history, plus changed to accepting all cookies and "Ask me before accepting each cookie". Didn't work.
Do you have any entries in the Exceptions List for cookies ("Edit Exceptions List…" button in the Privacy preference pane)? It's also possible that you are currently denying cookies for a domain that your bank's site uses.

in my privacy settings where I edit the exceptions list the web site in question is there the policy to Allow. But when I checked the cookies list it doesn't show up.??

Oops, this fell through the cracks; sorry about that :( Were you able to narrow it down to a specific preference that was causing the problem?
Closing INCOMPLETE due to lack of updates. If the problem still exists in Camino 2.0b3 or 1.6.8 and you can supply the requested additional information, you may reopen this bug.
