What kind of CalDAV server are you using?

Whiteboard: [CalDAV server: CommuniGate 5.2.9]
I'm been having this same problem with Sunbird 0.9 on OSX 10.4.11 syncing with my Gmail calendar.
I will often find that events I remember entering are not visible in Sunbird. Quitting and restarting Sunbird will make these events re-appear.
Loosing events like this makes it difficult to maintain confidence in the Sunbird software. I can tolerate it now that I know it is there, but I could never install this software for use by my wife... she would flip out if her calendar was getting screwed up like this. We both rely on our calendars to manage complex work schedules.
In point of fact, the events are still on the Gmail server, but still it is pretty unnerving and makes you feel that the software is highly unreliable.
Thanks,
Bill
I should say that if someone is interested in tackling this bug, I would be happy to work with them to document/test it more fully.

Confirmed in Thunderbird 3.0.1 + Lightning 1.0b
This was not a problem for me in TB 2.x + Lightning .9x, but has since come up twice in 1.0b.
Refreshing calendar has no effect.
Restarting TB resolves.
Manifestation is sporadic, but commonly occurs when you perform the following:
1) Add Google calendar.
2) Note the Events frame shows future/past events correctly.
3) Add event to the calendar by double-clicking a date in Month View.
4) Likely, your event will not display in the Month View, but will appear in the Events frame.
5) Restart calendar app (close/open TB or Sunbird)
6) After restart, events appear correctly.
The problem crops up on occasion with regular operation. Annoying workaround is to restart the application. Of course you have to use your ESP to know if you are missing something.

Please retest tomorrow, when the nightly builds contain bug 498690's fix. This might have fixed the issue.
Now running 1.0b2pre.
Unable to reproduce at this time. Since issue is transient, I would not call it resolved, but the prospects are looking good.
