Adding crash and topcrash keywords.

I run mozilla and it does not crash. Does anyone know why this bug report was filed without a hint of how to produce it? If someone WERE to produce a fix, how would anyone know what was fixed. Perhaps there is something hidden in the stack trace, but I don't even see any line numbers in it. Until more info is filed, here is my fix: "" A null patch. See how well it fixes a null bug report?
These crashes are reported as part of Talkback Feedback System. We monitor the crashes reported everyday on recent builds if the numbers goes above 10+ we file a bug with stack trace and the user comments provided the Netscape 6 Recent build users. This bug also was filed using the same criteria. 'topcrash' keyword means that the crash reported in this bug is in the topcrashes list. We normally add more comments and reproducible steps when available. If you are not able to reproduce or find a duplicate bug. Pl. resolve the bugs as worksforme. or Add more information needed.
As I said, I need more info. WORKSFORME is inaccurate, because there are no steps whatsoever given to dup the bug.
Here is the steps to re-produce :- In sweetlou builds :- Load http://www.shoutcast.com Click on Tune in. Wait for 20 secs it should crash. If not, Try clicking one more time and I will crash. In Debugger ,( I have winamp installed) It is launching winamp and running.

This works just fine for me, even trying it a number of times. It brings up WinAmp every time, and no crashes. I never hear anything, but who knows why. No crashes.
the platform info show the crash on OS: Windows NT 4.0 build 1381 OS: Windows NT 5.0 build 2195 aka win2000 and OS: Windows 98 4.10 build 67766222 wondering if this is specific to one of those OS releases.
I cannot dup it on NT 4.0 build 1381 SP 6.

Yes, xptinfo is my area. This looks a lot like http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40792 to me. I say this because of the interaction going on with the dialogs that pop up. I really suspect that this is an other case where we have some garbage pointers. But maybe not. I can't reproduce this either. I get the same thing rayw said. I'd really like to see this live in a debugger. The music does not play for me either. I have winamp 2.5e and it does not seem to like this playlist file format. But it is getting passed the list and attempting to play the items. This might be something that only shows in installer builds. I'll try one of those.

I wonder if several folks downloaded the latest beta2 optimized build candidates at ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/windows/32bit/x86/2000-07-27-05-M17/ and ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/2000-07-27-05-M17/ if any of these test case are easier to reproduce...
I still can't reproduce this. I've tried with a recent debug build and with a 7/27 commercial build from sweetlou. I've run it opn NT 4 SP5 and on Win95. I really want to see this in a debugger. namachi, you're in Canada? Anyone in MtView able to reproduce this?

Maybe a more detailed description of exactly how to reproduce this will help. Maybe I'm just doing something different. What OS vesion? Does it do this in a latest build? or has it only been seen in builds over a week old? Has anyone got it to crash other than by clicking in shoutcast? I tried clicking in winzip to downloiad winzip8 and it worked. Were you trying to save the file to a non-existant or non-writable directory? Exactly what steps were taken and what happened? Did the stack dump come from a debug build or from release with symbols? i.e. has this *ever* been seen with a debug build? Any clues will help.
I've been trying to listen to real audio samples and music from shoutcast.com, but have not been able to reproduce this on my Win NT machine using 2000072608 M17 build.
Adding Bill Law to cc list. I really think this is a case where the native object wrapped by XPConnect for use from JavaScript has been prematurely released by some code somewhere. Ok, here's the deal. Most of the talkback instances show the date of the crash as 7/19-7/20...and I have not been able to reproduce the crash using the latest M17 builds (from 7/26 and 7/27) trying all the cases mentioned in the talkback reports. With the following test cases i have been able to 100% reproduce the crash using an older build (2000071910).: 1. clicking on tune in! at www.shoutcast.com 2. opening an .xls attachment from mail., I am able to 100% reproduce the crash But I have not been able to crash trying to download the winzip file or viewing the bugzilla page. The only difference I see with the older build and the new ones is that the dialog asking what application to use to open the file is only there in the later builds. Was anything worked on or fixed involving the dialog titled "Downloading" that gives you the option to choose between "Open using" or "Save to disk"? I'm cc'ing mscott in case he can help...since he has reported this crash to talkback too with the following comments: " testing helper app dialog in release build...flagging this so i can see where we crash ".
I fixed this crash last week. It was Bug #45689. Necko wasn't exporting an XPT file in the release builds and the helper app dialog was using an interface in that xpt file. Marking as fixed. thanks for cc'ing me on this one Jay. I didn't know there was another bug with this stack trace out there.

Thanks Scott! Still, the typelib loader should not crash hard for lack of a typelib file (it should return an error and let someone else crash :) I'll look into that and file another bug with a fix as appropriate.
