After using the browser for a while, the page title will occasionally switch to Japanese-looking characters.  Closing the program and re-loading clears the problem.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unpredictable, but many times occurs when other tabs are initiated.  Not obvious when it first happens.

Where does this problem appear -- title bar, tab bar, or both?  Can you attach a PNG screenshot?
I see this problem frequently. It only started after I installed language support for Japanese and Korean (I have to look, but I may have Chinese installed) on Windows XP and Firefox. It appears in the title bar of the window.

BTW I'm using

on Windows XP SP3

I also have problems with Agent pasting text into Skype chat, where all the characters turn Japanese.
This is just the title bar.  There are no other occurrences in any other parts of the screen.

Most likely, the bytes of the title text are being misinterpreted as UTF-16.  But I have no idea why that would happen.

Reporter, please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). Also update your plugins (flash, adobe reader, java, quicktime, silverlight, etc.) Go to the developer's website and download the latest version from there. If you no longer see this issue, please close this bug as RESOLVED, WORKSFORME. If you do see the bug, please post a comment.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
