If I use Ctrl+Tab to bring up the UI for switching between tabs and then realize that I don't actually want to switch tabs, the UI should go away w/o switching the tab if I hit the Esc key while the Ctrl key is still held down. This is how every Alt+Tab UI I've ever used works, and it's how our Ctrl+Tab UI works on at least Linux, but on Vista, hitting Esc while Ctrl is held brings up the windows start menu.
