The Linux unit test boxes have been having what's looks like the usual random focus-related orange, except they've been perma-orange for about the last 8 hours, which makes me wonder if there's something that changed about the machine. (I tend to suspect machine problems rather than code problems, because the first cycle with the problem on one box built the same changeset as the last cycle without it on the other box.) I'm referring specifically to the pattern on these two machines: Linux mozilla-central moz2-linux-slave07 dep unit test Linux mozilla-central moz2-linux-slave08 dep unit test on http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/Firefox/ in which they report: * "mochitest FAIL mochitest timeout", and * 8 chrome tests failing

Looks like metacity had died on both. I restarted it and the buildbot slaves, and started new builds.
Yep, looks like that fixed it. Thanks.
