I use gnome.
Firefox, I don't know why, has 2 applications to open pdf files. okular from kde and evince. After installation same package from kde, firefox changed default application from evince to okular. In Edit->Preferences->Applications I added "evince". Now I have "okular (default)" and evince. After select evince, each pdf file opens in evince, but if I save on disc and click in downloads window, it open in okular.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.must to be 2 applications to open file (for example pdf - evince and okular)
2. download from any webpage pdf file and save on disc
3. click on downloads list this downloaded file an choose "open"
