User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081118 Minefield/3.1b2pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081118 Minefield/3.1b2pre In school we have a unstable internet connection (it disconnects often, sometimes the internet is really slow,...) via wifi over a proxy and Firefox (all versions I know from 2-3.1b2pre) very often stops to respond for a minute or so, when the site is loading. Or when the wifi connection breaks while loading a page, firefox also stops to respond for a minute or so. And this is really annoying and with opera you don't have this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect to a unstable internet (via wifi and maybe with a proxy server) 2. Go to any page you want Actual Results: Firefox stops responding for a short time and you can't switch to other tabs or do anything else (1 minute or so) Expected Results: It should respond and you should be able to do anything while ff is loading the page

I have the same problem. The Firefox hangs if the connection is unstable, or it is lost. Maybe it depends on the openned pages. I have simple pages, and also gmail often openned. Hanging happened for me for wifi and broadband connections. I use use ubuntu Interpid. My Firefox version is 3.0.10. I could always only kill Firefox and restart. Really annoying. I think these bug reeports are about the same: 306464, 417358.
