From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT) BuildID: 2000072508 Left clicking to the right of the text frame in this page and dragging even one pixel causes mozilla to scroll instantly to the bottom of the page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.zdnet.com/enterprise/stories/main/0,10228,2607375,00.html 2. Scroll downward until there is only a block of text in the middle. 3. Left click to the right of the text and drag upward or downward. Actual Results: Mozilla scrolled to the end of the page instantly. Expected Results: Mozilla should have highlighted the text in the middle like it normally does when one clicks to the right of text and drags, or nothing at all (no scroll, no highlight).

It seems to have corrected itself :-) Am able to select OK using nightly build 2000090508 on WinNT 4 SP 6. Can someone verify this and mark it FIXED ?
Seeing this on today's build on commercial debug Linux. Changing OS to All.

I don't know if the cause is the same, but here it goes: In the Mozilla Mail Window, drag any message a bit lower in the window (as if you would be placing it lower down - which you can't), and let go once the window starts scrolling. It doesn't stop. The only way to stop it is to repeat with a 2nd message. Also works: assuming you have so many mail folders that you can also scroll through that panel: drag the message to the bottom of the mail folders panel but make sure no folder actually gets selected (a "forbidden" icon is shown). When the window starts moving, drop the message. Presto! The mail folders panel also scrolls to the bottom and keeps doing so even when you move the scroll bar back to the top. Remedy: repeat the action. I've had this happen a few times accidentally, and if you don't know how to solve it it is very annoying.

This bug is really annoying. I hit it with Firefox 1.0.7 for Ubuntu/amd64 and Firefox 1.5.0.1 (official) on Ubuntu/x86. This tags me about every other day reading Slashdot.
