RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 376044

People

(Reporter: david, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.18) Gecko/20081031 SeaMonkey/1.1.13
Build Identifier:

I did a query. Then I went to change the columns displayed by selecting the "Change Columns" link at the bottom of the bug list. On the "Change Columns" page, I cleared all checkboxes except Summary and checked the boxes for Product and Component. I then selected the "Change Columns" button at the bottom of the page. Instead of a bug list, I got a page of source HTML markup.

Selecting the Back button twice yielded the bug list display I wanted.

Reproducible: Sometimes

It appears that this happens only on the first bugzilla.mozilla.org session after launching SeaMonkey. After I submit this bug report, I will shut down SeaMonkey, relaunch it, and try the problem case again.

A major feature is broken. Since there is a simple workaround, however, I gave this bug report a Normal severity instead of Major. (The workaround is to use the Back button twice after getting the source HTML.)

From the discussion at bug #376044, this is NOT a duplicate of that bug.

I am logged in when this happens. A request (four months ago) to change the bug #376044 Summary to remove reference to "non-logged in users" was ignored, thus indicating that bug #376044 indeed applies only to those who are not logged in.

Further, the discussion at bug #376044 cites localized browsers, incorrectly configured Bugzilla servers, and custom fields (columns?). None of those apply in my case. I'm using the en-US (i.e., non-localized) version of SeaMonkey 1.1.13, querying the bugzilla.mozilla.org server, and not creating any custom fields.

Please do not close this as a duplicate of bug #376044 without also updating the Summary of that bug and entering a comment clarifying that the problem has a broader scope than indicated in the original description and subsequent comments.

I just now reran my problem case and was able to reproduce the problem. In the "Change Columns" window, before changing, I had the following columns checked: Changed, Severity, Priority, Status, Resolution, Votes, and Summary (first 60 characters). (This set of columns is from a cookie that I restore when I first launch SeaMonkey.) I cleared all of those except Summary (first 60 characters) and selected (checked) Product and Component. When I selected the "Change Columns" button and get a page of source HTML, the URI is <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/colchange.cgi?rememberedquery=cmdtype%3Drunnamed%26namedcmd%3Dtracking&column_product=on&column_component=on&column_short_short_desc=on&splitheader=0&saved_search=15132&save_columns_for_search=1>.

Subsequent comments, especially comments 14 - 16, indicate that the problem seems to be some specific versions of mod_perl and/or Apache, and doesn't seem related to custom fields. You are explicitly mentioning b.m.o as the Bugzilla installation which causes the problem and we are too, see the comments above. This is the same issue; definitely. I will update the other bug summary and remove the non-login part.
