User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008102920 Firefox/3.0.4 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.18 (20081105) I've added an LDAP Addressbook to Thunderbird. I open the Addressbook, select the LDAP directory on the left. The Status bar reads "No matches found". I type a name in the search box and hit enter. The Status bar doesn't change. If I type a name that doesn't exist, then I never get a response back and the Status bar remains at 'No matches found'. If I type a name that does exist, it takes about a minute to find it, THEN displays that user in the list and updates the Status bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add LDAP Directory to Address Book 2. Open Address Book 3. Type fictitious name in the search window and hit enter Actual Results: No indication that search was started or completed. Expected Results: I would have expected the following: 1) When a search is started, the status bar should say "Searching". 2) When a search is completed and if no users are found, the list should contain a non-selectable item: "No matches found for: blahblah" and the Status bar should read "No matches found" Lets just presume I need to add 5 people to an email. I don't know anything other than the phonetic spellings of their first and last names, so I need to search for them using both ph and f for the f sound, both c and k for the k sound, and so on and so forth. It could take a half hour to just fill in the addressing of a message.
