If you go to a URL with a single long line that isn't reformattable by the browser, then a horizontal scrollbar appears, and all reformattable text is formatted to the width of the unformattable line. This means you have to use the horizontal scrollbar once for each line in the document, instead of just once for the unformattable line. RCFOC has other examples.
I don't understand what this is saying. Nor do I know what is supposed to happen or not happen if I go to the porcupine.org URL indicated. And I have no idea who/what RCFOC is. But I do understand enough to realize that this is not autofill. Trying layout.

Let me see if I understand what this is saying... Suppose you have a page with a very long line (e.g. a "word" with 200 characters), then a horizontal scroll bar would appear to allow you to view the long line. I think what you are saying is that other text on the page is formatted according to the width of the long line, not according to the current width of the window. If this is what you are saying, then I must say that I cannot reproduce this (Linux 2000072712). Also, I have no idea what the supplied URL has to do with this bug.
I've put a picture of M16 having trouble at http: //nis.acs.uci.edu/~strombrg/mozilla-trouble/M16.jpeg. For comparison, I put a picture of netscape 4.73 handling this page better at http://nis.acs.uci.edu/~strombrg/mozilla-trouble/netscape-4.73.jpeg. As you can see, the wide <pre> is causing the rest of the text to be formatted wide. These are pictures from the two browsers at the bottom of the http: //www.porcupine.org/postfix-mirror/faq.html URL.
