Go to about: and you'll see that Mozilla is listed as being version M17 on both the about page and the user-agent string. This is on an M18 nightly build ID: 2000072708 If I hadn't been smoktesting I wouldn't have known it was an M18 build as normally I get the builds from the latest/ directory.
The fix for this is easy: The milestone number is in the following file: mozilla/modules/libpref/src/init/all.js Edit line 31: pref("general.useragent.misc", "m17"); Replacing the m17 with line m18
granrose fixed this today.

It occured to me on the way to work today we should have something in the user-agent string that identifies the browser as a pre milestone nightly rather than an actual milestone. Something like m18-pre or m18-nightly, this would perhaps reduce the confusion as when people click on About they'll see that it's not the actual milestone and if you ever want to check the mozilla.org page stats it would be easy to see who was using milestones and who was using nightlies. But marking this bug as VERIFIED as it has been fixed
