Not a security bug.

This feature works for everyone I know -- what's different about your configuration? You probably don't know but that's crucial information for anyone trying to figure out what part to fix, and the folks at http://support.mozilla.com can help you figure that out.

Do you have a read-only profile, or sessionstore.js file in the way?

DUPE of bug 398817 (AKA clearing private data on exit will also clear your session)?
Resolving as INCOMPLETE as Rajvardhan never answered whether he was clearing all private data on exit (or using an extension that causes SessionStore to fail or just disables it).

I have similar problem with Firefox 3.0.10 (and previous versions). I use French localization. I usually have 2 or 3 Firefox windows opened with 1 to 6 tabs each. Automatic closing Firefox when closing my windows XP session. Next Firfox opening would not propose restoring previous session. I suspect Firefox not saving the information about previous session. Happens random, never managed to reproduce it. I never clear all private data on exit.
