Original file name is lost while trying to save *.xls

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. PHP script reads file and sends it to output WITH CORRECT CONTENT-TYPE
2. Firefox offers to save or open it. Choose open.
3. Then try to save it - file name is lost.
Found with cyrillic symbols in file name and Excel-document sent in XML format.

What is the original filename and what file name does Excel suggest?

Can you provide a URL where I can see this bug?

Try to open the links below and choose Open, then try to save the document.

1) This one was saved in XLS format (native Excel format) and all is OK.

2) This one was saved in MHT and renamed to XLS (Webpage archive). Other browsers offer correct filename (test.xls), but firefox clears file name field (no name is offered)

Both links in Comment #2 prompt to save correctly, file name included, and save normally. Excel opens both documents fine.

Is it ok if you choose Open in Firefox dialog and then in Excel click File-Save as?
(do not choose 'Save' in Firefox)

I use Excel 2003 (IE and Opera lead to correct result)
This problem was reproduced several times on different PC.

This bug was reported using Firefox 3.0 or older, which is no longer supported. The bug has also not been changed in over 500 days and is still in UNCO.
Reporter, please retest this bug in Firefox 3.6.10 or later using a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles. If you still see this problem, please update the bug. If you no longer see the bug, please set the resolution to RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
