468302 - firefox stops connecting shortly after launch, then when you exit process remains active

most of the time upon booting my computer, once the wireless is connected i start firefox, and the internet connection will work for the first 10-15 seconds. after this time firefox stops being able to connect to webpages (all open tabs, sometimes pages still havent completed loading). The internet connection is still alive for other applications, just not firefox. 

When i exit it seems to exit properly, asking if i want to save session etc. but once its closed if i try to launch it again it will say there is already a firefox running, and from the task manager i can see that firefox.exe is still running. when i kill this, i can then run firefox again, and the connection is fine. occasionally this will happen again after a while but 99% of the time it's only on the first launch after booting my computer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot computer
2. wait for wireless to automatically connect
3. open firefox and start browsing
4. connection dies in firefox only
5. close firefox
6. try to start firefox again. this fails as its already running
7. start windows task manager to kill firefox.exe
8. run firefox. this will now work
9. browse the internet. this will now work fine.

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
