Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. not sure why i'm so different but 2. just try scrolling left to right or 3. contact me for more info Actual Results: just try scrolling left to right on any page Expected Results: nothing scroll sideways

Sorry but Bugzilla is not the right place for help. It must be a driver issue and not a Firefox bug if it works with other driver/hardware combinations. Your driver seems to fail to send scroll events. I suggest that you upgrade your synaptic drivers, either from IBM or if you can't find drivers there use http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers/ If you need additional help/support use http://support.mozilla.com.

perhaps u're correct but i'd like to add that it could very well be the driver but here's a little more detail. 1st, i'm at the latest driver level from ibm/lenovo and have been but to be sure i reinstalled again. 2nd, horizontal events seem to be recognized by ffox when the scrolling type is "smooth." when it's "standard" only vertical events seem to be recognized. now if other apps i.e., ie recognizes both horizontal and veritcal, it was reasonable to assume that these events are being sent to the apps. if u have a suggestion that i can try to capture this, please inform.

That it works in other apps means nothing. I'm here in bugzilla for nearly 8 years and it's always the same. Read for example http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t7103.html to confirm that this is a driver issue but there is only a tip for Opera. It could be still possible that something breaks in Firefox but you confirmed that it works for your friends.
