On support-stage, if you go to any article with SHOWFOR, and under "Show content customized for:" select "All", there are headings within the article content, for cases when content is version-specific. On support.mozilla.com, those headings are "Firefox 2:", and "Firefox 3:". On support-stage.mozilla.org, those headings are "2.0:", and "3:". (I currently cannot log in to staging, so I can't create instances of 3.1-specific or 3.0-specific content.) This is due to the fix for bug 457027 [adding showfor support for 3.1]. The headings should include the word "Firefox", and for 3.0 and 3.1, I suggest "Firefox 3.0 and 3.1".

I guess we can set up some simple aliases for the tabs (so the tabs will just have the version number while the labels will show Firefox 3.X) in SHOWFOR to take care of this.

Milestone --> 0.9 0.8 would be great; but I think the majority of users probably view one version at a time.

Another solution is to just remove the All functionality All-together. I believe the main reason for keeping it was so contributors could easily see the differences between versions, but it seems like what really matters is the version the user is running. Where there other reasons as well that I forgot? There's also the issue of printing; we need to ensure that what is printed on paper is actually what's shown on screen. That is (another) separate bug though.

I'm with removing "All", besides you can see all content by disabling JS, and reloading the page. :-) However, I think we should ask around before removing it. Should I ask in the Contributors forum?

s/I'm with removing "All"/I'm fine with removing "All"

Yes let's ask in the contrib forum. I'll resolve this one for now since I think we'll just remove the All option. If it turns out there are strong reasons for keeping All, we'll reopen this to fix the headings.

If contributors need all for some reason it probably makes more sense to remove this from the default showfor option anyway and consider adding a link for contributors only somewhere else.

We could just hide all from the tab selector. If someone needs to see everything for whatever reason, adding "&showforbrowser=allbrowser" will do the trick.

That's a fantastic suggestion that I wasn't even considering!

So far, no-one in the Contributors forum objects: <http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=226642&forumId=3>

Yep, just go ahead and hide it. Eric's solution sounds straightforward enough for those few that really need it. That, or disabling JavaScript works. Please file a separate bug for hiding the "All" option.
