It would be cool if you could stop/pause recording, add needed code, then continue recording without losing previous built up work for the test case. Since it's not possible to record every action in test case creation. A test case writer using the recorder has to do a tricky cut and paste act to record actions interspersed with non-recordable actions.
I agree with the utility of this feature it's just going to take some serious work. This is a pretty hacky area of the code that is screaming for a rewrite. I'll slate this for 1.1

This requires a sizable restructuring of the recorder code. In addition, based on the design session feedback we've been trying to move away from the more monolithic/global record and inspect controls for finer in-editor based controls in the future. Pushing to 1.2

Doesn't stop us from creating tests. We can live without it this quarter. There are more important issues to fix. Marking as P3.

We have dropped support for the Mozmill IDE in the upcoming Mozmill 2.0 release. Therefore it finally has been removed from the extension by bug 791625. Closing the bug as WONTFIX.
