Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2

I have "Clear my private data when I close Firefox" ticked. When I close Firefox, the window comes up and I clear my entire history.

When I reload Firefox, my history is still there.

If I manually clear my private data, my history is deleted as it should be.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to Tools > Options > Privacy and check the "Clear my private data when I close Firefox" option
2. Browse the web
3. Close Firefox, wait for popup, clear data
4. Reopen Firefox and check History dropdown. For me, its all still there
Actual Results:
When I reopened Firefox, my history was still there

Expected Results:
My history should not be there!

Only a couple of extensions - FireFTP, DownloadHelper and Adblock Plus, and British English Dictionary. Default theme.

and disabling those extensions (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) does change anything?
If you click on settings near "Clear my private data when I close Firefox" is Visited Pages enabled? Does change anything if you enable "Ask me before clearing private data"?
in my previous comment i meant "if you *disable* ask me before..."
I have seen something odd

handtyped url's are not cleared from location bar with auto Clear Private Data on exit but that Ctrl-Shift-Del does clear them.

First noticed a week or 2 back but couldn't get anyone to confirm it.

More here - not just me

only handtyped? so is something cleared?
And those appear in history sidebar as well, right?

I checked to make sure and I was wrong, not just handtyped, called up 2 from bookmarks

but entries still there after restart.

Ctrl-Shift-Del got rid of them

what do you mean by "called up 2 from bookmarks", are those bookmarks?
Yes they are bookmarks
bookmarks and livemark children won't disappear from locationbar, that is expected, however what makes a bug is having any item in History Sidebar after clearing private data on shutdown (with a blank start page obviously). So do you see that?
Yes
bug 470348 should be the solution
