The truncation problem seems to be a bug with the editor on mozilla.org.

make a trivial change, then click "save changes" then the "download diff" button.  the diff file you get will be truncated.

This new patch is not truncated as I copy/pasted.

the "doctor" doesn't truncate on small diffs, but does on large ones, so disregard the usage of "trivial" above
