In other words, if I build Firefox, I can't do: $ make -C $OBJDIR/js/src/ imacros.c.out because ./js is actually in $OBJDIR/dist/bin. I suspect the same is true of jsshell builds where autoconf213 isn't run inside the js/src srcdir but haven't checked.
Obsolete with the removal of tracejit.
