User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20081217 Shredder/3.0b1pre

click account settings. Go to manage identities and edit
click outgoing server smtp drop down arrow.
The default is automatically selected

it works if I click on the down arrow and then drag a little to the right to prevent automatic click of topmost default entry

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click account settings. Go to manage identities and edit
2.click outgoing server smtp drop down arrow.

Actual Results:
default is selected and no drop down box
will work if you drag into window or drag off to one side to unhilite topmost entry.

Expected Results:
normal drop down behaviour
The dropdown is not even filled (just shows as a tiny line) for me, on linux/trunk.

Note: Following old bugs still exist.
 (1) If "Use Default Server", blank in selected SMTP filed of Identity Settings.
 (2) SMTP selection for main identity via Identity Settings is ignored.
SMTP selection at Account Setting panel is required for main identity.
WADA: do you mean the regression window is 2008-12-04 -> 2008-12-14?

Anyway, looking at it again, it seems for me the smtp server setting for the id i see it with is gone - no smtpserver pref for that id.

But i see it only with one identity, so maybe i'm seeing something else...
> do you mean the regression window is 2008-12-04->2008-12-14?
Yes. I happen to have the two builds, and checked with both builds. Sorry but I haven't checked real(narrower) regression range.
This happens in other menulist controls of the other tabs in this dialog box.
Magnus, want to take this one?
Cause was mismatch between "mouse cursor position" and "chosen box(box highlighted)".

(1) Click down_arrow, then move mouse cursor to Line_0 or Line_2 quickly.
(if mouse cursor is kept on down_arrow, selection list is collapsed again)
(2) Move mouse cursor to Line_0 => Use default server is highlighted(Line_2).
(3) Move mouse cursor to Line_2 => SMTP_server_#1     is highlighted(Line_4).
assigning to default owner (but not working on it, so contributions welcome!)

Philor, any idea what might be going on here?
Whiteboard: asked Philor if he has a clue about what this could be...
Or Neil, since in theory this affects SM as well.
CCing the other Neil as some of this bug sounds like a problem with menupopups.
I'm with Magnus: I can't speculate about why the menulist misbehaves when it has items in it, since it's completely and silently broken, containing nothing but the static "use default" and the separator, for me on two different installs.

That's bug 474848.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090124 Shredder/3.0b2pre

What phenomenon do you mean by your "copies and folders rt pain~ is frozen"?
It's Bug 471344, isn't it? See also Bug 472959(Junk setting case).
I will review bugs for the "copies and folders" pane not closing. But main thing here is I don't have this bug anymore.

I don't think so as that's about the archive folder picker, this is discussing the smtp server picker.

http://hg.mozilla.org/comm-central/pushloghtml?startdate=2008-12-04+03%3A00%3A00&enddate=2008-12-14+03%3A00%3A00

In that range bug 467965 touched a lot of smtp code... I've changed ISPs since that and therefor also smtp servers, so I can't really say anything about what I was anymore. It seems to be working with what I've got now though.
if I'm understanding the comments, this is WFM. It's also personally WFM.
